Ajaccio, Corsica
Our first stop in Corsica was Ajaccio on the west coast. This is the place where Napolean was born so we saw quite a few Napolean statues and memorials ... and a couple of museums.

Early morning arrival in Ajaccio by ferry from Marseille
 The pigeon was very obliging
 Another monument to Napoleon
We took a ferry across the harbour to Porticcio - for a swim at the beach
 The local fare - charcuterie
A remnant of the Tour de France which went through Ajaccio
The view from our hotel window - across the citadel to the sea
Napolean again - this is the house where he was born and lived as a child
A memorial garden outside Napolean's garden

Sea wall - near our hotel
  The local beach in Ajaccio
